Annette Williams

Annette Williams
We are sad to announce that Annette Williams, ex-Director of the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (UKRC), passed away last week. Annette was a driving force behind the Let’s TWIST (Train Women In Science and Technology) training developed by Sheffield Hallam University, Bradford College and Sheffield College in the late 1990s. The Let’s TWIST materials formed the basis for much of the work the WiSET has undertaken since its formation in 2005, and led to the successful 3 year ESF funded JIVE Project (2004-2007) and the creation of the government funded UKRC until its closure in 2011. Annette’s life was dedicated to making the world a better place for women and girls, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering and maths. We are honoured to have worked with this remarkable woman whose drive and determination was inspirational.
