STEM 'How to' guides

A set of useful guides for teachers, those working in outreach and others wishing to encourage young women into STEM areas. The guides are on • How to run an inclusive and effective STEM Day for all • How to make effective use of role models for a Girls in STEM event • How to design and run and inclusive engineering day for girls.

Last year we commissioned Dr Ali Buxton of Discovery STEM to write some ‘How to’ guides for us. We have been working with Ali for a number of years and used our combined knowledge and experience to create what we hope are a set of useful guides for teachers, those working in outreach and others wishing to encourage young women into STEM areas.

The work was kindly sponsored by Alcoa (now Arconic) as part of their relationship with Sheffield Hallam University, and their aim to encourage and progress more women in STEM areas.

The guides are available for download and will be added to the STEM Equality and Diversity Toolkit when the www.stem-e-and-d-toolkit.co.uk is updated in the coming weeks.
